Making the Gospel accessible
12-May-2010
Senior Lecturer at Laidlaw College, Dr Mark Keown, recently released a book to help
inform people seeking the truth about God. Written to answer questions
like, "Why am I here?, What's gone wrong with the world?, How will it
all end?, or What do I have to do to know God?", What's God Up To
On Planet Earth? is a must-read for those seeking to understand
the Christian faith more. This 120-page book is a straightforward and
elegant summary of the Christian gospel framed around the ideas of
relationship, rupture, restoration, return and response.
Mark's
enthusiasm for the gospel and evangelism was evident at the recent
launch of What's God Up To On Planet Earth? held on
Thursday 22 April at 7.30 pm in the Laidlaw College Library. "It is
written evangelistically to help a person understand the Christian
message", Mark explained. "I believe it will be a valuable resource for
those who wish to become more effective in spreading the faith, enabling
them to know the gospel better.
My motivation in writing the book was that it could
be given to those friends and acquaintances we want to tell the
Christian story to, but we don't quite get there. Or we do, but they
don't quite get it."
