Public Lecture Featuring Bob Mendelsohn
Jesus, Israel and the Church
A MESSIANIC JEW SPEAKS
Monday 11 June 2012 | 7.30 pm (Christchurch)
Wednesday 13 June 2012 | 7.30 pm (Auckland)
You are warmly invited to attend a public lecture on Jesus, Israel and the Church by Bob Mendelsohn (National Director of Jews for Jesus Australia) on Monday 11 June at Laidlaw College's Christchurch campus and on Wednesday 13 June at Laidlaw College's Auckland campus.
Jewish people play a central role in the biblical story. Their cultural and spiritual traditions open a window into the world that Jesus inhabited. Their story forms the foundations of the Christian faith. In this lecture, Bob will share from the scriptures and the richness of his Jewish heritage about Yeshua, the Messiah and Saviour of the World. He will talk about how Messianic Jews view themselves, non-Jewish Christians and the nation of Israel, and will explore what is meant when the term Israel is used in the news and in the Bible.
If you have questions about what the Church today should think of Israel, then this lecture is for you! Following Bob’s presentation, two Laidlaw College faculty members will give short responses before Bob addresses questions from the audience.
There is no cost to attend and a light supper will be served. For catering purposes could those attending the Auckland event please RSVP by Tuesday 12 June 2012 to events/laidlaw.ac.nz or call 09 836 7818. There is no need for those attending the Christchurch event to RSVP.
