About Graeme Flett

Graeme entered pastoral ministry in 1990 with the Elim Churches of New Zealand. He pastored what was then Otumoetai Elim Church (now Oasis Christian Centre) in Tauranga. Following three and half years of ministry, he, his wife and family moved to Auckland (1994) to study at Laidlaw College (BCNZ). In 1997 both graduated with ministry degrees and returned to pastoral ministry with the Elim Churches. For the last 13 years, up until January 2011, Graeme was the senior minister of Burnside Elim Community Church - a vibrant multiethnic church on the northwest of Christchurch. Over this time, under Graeme’s leadership, the church developed an organic approach to ministry and mission within a Pentecostal setting that encouraged thoughtful reflection, creative innovation, and collaborative team-based leadership with a strong emphasis on being church as mission within its surrounding local context. Graeme has also participated in various leadership forums including being a member of the Laidlaw Christchurch Campus advisory council for the past 10 years. Currently Graeme is a member of the academic staff of Laidlaw College (Auckland campus) involved primarily with the development and implementation of the ministry internship program within the BMin and BTheol degrees. He is studying with Otago University and is scheduled to finish his MMin at the end of 2012. He also retains his credentials as a senior Minister with the Elim Churches of New Zealand.
