2015 National Alumni Gathering - Christchurch

The Alumni Committee warmly invites Laidlaw College, BTI and BCNZ and Masters Institute alumni to the 2015 National Alumni Gathering being held on our Henderson campus on 8 August and on our Christchurch campus on 15 August.

Come and join with other alumni for a day of theological study and reflection as well as relaxed opportunities to catch up with old friends and get to know alumni from other years.

As the world rapidly changes new idolatries such as busyness, technology, travel, change, and wealth are promoted as being able to save us. We are relentlessly bombarded with information, and can find ourselves over-stimulated, over-stressed and over-busy. So what does the Gospel have to say and how can we live well in this kind of world?

Sheila Pritchard

Sheila Pritchard was originally a primary school teacher in Auckland before doing theological training and then missionary service in Nigeria from 1972-1978. On her return she taught Pastoral Care and Spiritual Formation at the Bible College of New Zealand for 21 years. She is now self-employed offering spiritual direction, supervision and retreats. Sheila will be exploring the themes of balancing words and silence in life and ministry: the difference between information and transformation.

Rod Thompson

Rod Thompson has been the National Principal of Laidlaw College since 2010 and finishes up in the role this December. His teaching to students, churches and in public lectures has been greatly appreciated, with a number of his public lectures filmed and used as resources for church groups. He is always highly rated in the feedback we receive on our Alumni Gatherings. Rod will be examining how the Gospel of Christ equips us to live well in the midst of new changes and challenges.
