Leadership in the Marketplace
A conversation with Barrister, Judith Malcolm

What does it mean to be a Christian leader in the marketplace? To be ‘salt and light’ in the profession we are in? We are delighted to have barrister, Judith Malcolm, join us at our next Sustain meeting to reflect on her journey as a Christian lawyer.

Judith has been practising law for 20 years. She is a barrister and youth advocate in the North Shore Court, Te Kōti Rangatahi – Hoani Waititi Marae, and Pasifika Youth Court - Avondale.  Judith began her legal career as a law clerk at the NZ Law Commission. She then worked as a solicitor at Buddle Findlay in the litigation department. From commercial litigation, Judith moved to criminal litigation working as a staff solicitor at the Mangere Community Law Centre.

Judith is married and has three teenage children. As a family they attend Northgate Baptist Church in Silverdale. She also serves on the church’s cross cultural missions committee, with a particular interest in Bolivia where she has previously lived and served in missions. Judith is part of a team that has set up and runs a transition home in Bolivia for teenagers leaving orphanage care. She also serves as Deputy Chair of Laidlaw College’s National Governing Council.
