That Gap in the Middle: Supporting Churchgoers in Midlife

Lecturer: Anne Shave

Within many churches in New Zealand the spiritual and pastoral needs of people in midlife are less frequently the focus of attention than those of people at other stages of life. However, the complexity of this life stage means that it has the potential to be a time of discovery and spiritual growth. Over three Monday nights, between 7 and 9 pm, Anne Shave explores the following topics:

17 September: What’s going on at midlife?

24 September: Pastoral care of people in midlife: issues and responses

1 October: Spiritual growth at midlife: theory and experience

During each evening there will be time for discussion and also for personal reflection.
