Suffering & Hope: Supporting others through difficult times

Whether in family, church or wider communities, relationships are the critical place where we experience, and share, God’s love for humanity.

The faculty of Laidlaw’s Counselling programme invite you to a morning of workshops which will give you a variety of resources to support your work in church or community contexts, with a particular focus on how to journey with people during difficult times.

The workshops will be practical and interactive, and are aimed at youth leaders, 24/7 youth workers, children’s and families workers, and pastoral care teams.

Topics covered:

  • Hope one: Holding hope
  • Grief one: Walking with those who are grieving
  • Child one: Caring for vulnerable children in a Sunday School or youth group setting

Workshops will be presented by Laidlaw School of Social Practice lecturers and practitioners: Lisa Spriggens, Sarah Penwarden and Wendy Fowler.

Morning tea provided.

Please note these taster workshops are not intended as professional development for counsellor practitioners.
