How do we move from over-serving out of obligation to a healthy model of ministry?
Join us at our upcoming Sustain gathering on the Henderson campus where Dr Maja Whitaker will share some of the lessons she is learning as she wrestles with this question. (Note the one-off shift to a Thursday evening to enable us to have Maja at our meeting.)
Maja is a lecturer in Practical Theology at Laidlaw College, based at the Christchurch campus, and is part of the leadership team of the School of Theology. Since 2011 Maja and her husband Dave have pastored the Equippers Church in Timaru, a growing Pentecostal church within the ACTS movement. She is involved in preaching, strategic planning and pastoral care. Maja recently graduated with her doctorate from the University of Otago, exploring personal identity, the resurrection body and the eschatological hope for people with disabilities. Maja is mum to four girls, aged from 13 to 3 years old, and they live on a lifestyle block on the outskirts of Timaru, where she loves to garden, run, read and bake.
