Stories of Laidlaw: Whirimako Black
Nga kōrero paki a Laidlaw
Whirimako Black, MNZM, accomplished musician and actress and current Laidlaw student, recently featured on an episode of TVNZ’s Waka Huia series. In the documentary she talks of why she enrolled in Laidlaw’s Indigenous Theology programme, and how her study of the Bible is informing her songwriting in Te Reo:
“I was given this language and this voice to share.... And so I wanted to learn [the Bible] so I know it and use it to guide me through my journey and become a part of me... This is the reason why I decided to enrol in Laidlaw College, studying the Bible.”
