Re-Orientation at all campuses 2021

Nau mai, haere mai! Welcome! Talofa lava! Malo e lelei!

Coming to Laidlaw College, you are entering into a community shaped by the Gospel. At Laidlaw, we learn together so that we are better equipped to renew God’s world. Re-Orientation Week is our opportunity to welcome you back or for the first time; to introduce you to (or re-connect you with) the Laidlaw whānau; and to help orient you on this part of your study journey.

We hope this will also be a time for some refreshment and renewal – to replenish with some encouragement and energy before we dive into another semester of lectures, assessments, and learning. During the week you will meet with lecturers and classmates, receive support and study advice about the semester ahead, worship and pray together!

Save these dates in your diary: 19-23 July 2021 for all New and Returning Students. Links to the Orientation timetables are below.

We can’t wait to see you!
The Laidlaw College Orientation Team

We look forward to hanging out and catching up in person and making some spaces for fun and reflection. This week will have plenty of opportunities for relational connection and conversations to build a bridge back into your regular study semester. Please note that different programmes will be hosting their events on different days (similar to our February 2021 Orientation). Come and join us for our two community days and the one programme day for your studies.

We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you into our community. During the week you will meet your lecturers and classmates, receive support and study advice about the semester ahead, worship, laugh and eat together! We can’t wait to see you.

If you are able and interested we would love to welcome you onsite at one of our campuses. Otherwise stay tuned for opportunities to join us via livestream and zoom sessions. Check out the schedule for the campus nearest you and let us know if you're able to join us! We're eating community lunches each day and would love to have you at the table with us.

Whakawhanaungatanga: A warm welcome into the Laidlaw community with opportunities to connect with fellow students and staff.

Study details: Support with your personal and study admin and an introduction to the calendar with important terms and dates.

Whakawhanaungatanga: Your presence and participation. Let’s do this together. Come and get to know us!

Study details: We expect you to complete your personal administrative tasks to be ready for your study (finances, moodle login, student ID card, study calendar, course selections, campus and library orientation.)

Communication: We expect you to ask questions if something isn’t clear or you don’t understand. No question is too silly! And if you can’t make a day/session please let us know by contacting the relevant people (see below).

Please make special note of our Pōwhiri at the Henderson Campus 19 July 2021 for all new Henderson and Manukau students and staff. Come and gather at 10am to be organised for a 10:30 start. Please dress accordingly. Are you a distance learning student based in Auckland or nearby? Come and join us for the Pōwhiri. We’d love to get to welcome you in person. Returning students – come and help us welcome our manuhiri!

Timetables have been set up to work in person or virtually if necessary. We hope and plan to gather in person, but if circumstances change we will update the following timetables with the necessary zoom links.

An additional Online welcome session for all distance-learning students nationally will be held on Tuesday evening 20 July, 7:30pm.

Bring your kids to the Henderson Campus for free food, fun and games, 1:30 – 3.30pm on Friday 23 July. This is free – but we do need you to register yourself and your children: Henderson & Manukau
