Re-Orientation at all campuses

Me Hono Anō Tātou

Nau mai, haere mai! We anticipate a return to on-campus courses for the beginning of Semester 2 which includes a Re-Orientation week that welcomes all students back to our campuses in person! These last few months have been strange, trying, and for some, enjoyable. But there is nothing quite like being together in person and we are looking forward to this special week of extended times of gathering with one another.

Coming to Laidlaw College, you are entering into a community shaped by the Gospel. At Laidlaw, we learn together so that we are better equipped to renew God’s world. Re-Orientation Week (July 20-23) will focus on connecting relationally after several months of isolation, social distancing, and learning online.

We look forward to hanging out and catching up in person and making some spaces for fun and reflection. This week will have plenty of opportunities for relational connection and conversations to build a bridge back into your regular study semester.

We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you into our community. During the week you will meet your lecturers and classmates, receive support and study advice about the semester ahead, worship, laugh and eat together!

If you are able and interested we would love to welcome you onsite at one of our campuses. Otherwise stay tuned for opportunities to join us via livestream and zoom sessions. Check out the schedule for the campus nearest you and let us know if you're able to join us! We're eating community lunches each day and would love to have you at the table with us.

What can you expect from us during Re-Orientation?

· A full welcome into the Laidlaw community.

· Community lunches together Monday through Thursday.

· Plenty of opportunities to connect with your fellow students and Laidlaw staff.

· An introduction to your Academic Tool kit. (New students!)

· Opportunities to find out what kind of personal admin you need to get done and help doing it.

· We will answer all of your questions to the best of our ability.

· Communication – we will tell you what is going on by sending emails, sharing Facebook updates and events, and posting schedules.

What do we expect from you during Re-Orientation?

· Your presence and participation!

· If something isn’t clear or you have any doubts please ask us. No question is too silly! We want to serve you well and set you up for success.

· That you will complete your personal administrative tasks to be ready to go for the semester (finances, moodle login, student ID card etc.)

· Communication – if you can’t make a day please let us know!

· Come ready to learn and grow.
