Karen is a Professional Teaching Fellow working with Laidlaw since 2014, in lecturing, tutoring, designing courses, and appraisal. Her background is in secondary teaching, particularly in Social Sciences and Physical Education. She has specialist experience designing educational resources, managing and supporting NCEA across the curriculum, and mentoring and appraising teachers. Karen has worked as Principal’s Nominee and Co-Head of Secondary. Karen’s interests include citizenship education, inequality in education, Critical Pedagogy and Paulo Freire. Karen is currently completing her Masters in Education.
