  • BTchLn (Primary)

Alisha joined the Education team at the Christchurch campus in February 2023. She lectures first and second year students in the Bachelor of Education (Primary) programme.

Alisha holds a degree in teaching and learning and has extensive experience teaching in the Christian School sector in Christchurch. She is an accredited CliftonStrengths® coach and is currently studying a Graduate Certificate in Career Development, with a focus on career development in education.

She is passionate about creating opportunities for young people to discover and develop their gifts in the context of a positive learning environment that reflects the kingdom of God. Her heart is for young people in Christian schools to experience an education that helps them thrive, catch a vision for their future, and where faith is intrinsically woven into curriculum and everyday life.

Alisha’s teaching career spans more than 20 years, and she has enjoyed many varied roles and learning contexts during this time. She has taught a range of year levels, with most of her experience centring in the Middle School (Year 7-10). She specialises in literacy education and has facilitated several literacy-focussed professional development workshops for teachers in the local Christian Schools network and in Taiwan.

Alisha and her husband served for six years as volunteer staff at Teen Missions International Australia where they lectured for the Bible, Missionary, and Work training programme and provided pastoral care for students. Here they also helped train leaders for the summer mission programme and led teams to Vanuatu, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Greece.

In her spare time, Alisha enjoys writing and collecting stories of God at work in the everyday lives of people. She has self-published a guided journal, Awaken, and four devotional journals in the My Faith Journey series.

Born and raised on the Sunshine Coast, Australia, Alisha moved to Christchurch to marry her Kiwi mission leader, Andrew. They have three teenage children—Rachel, Nate, and Amber.
