Pastoral Leadership Pathways
At Laidlaw we are serious about training ministry and pastoral leaders for the church.
The gold standard of our offering is the three year Bachelor of Theology in which you can specialise in ministry and pastoral leadership. For those who feel called into ministry and have the ability to invest into this pathway - there is no better programme to pursue.
For those who have been in ministry and pastoral roles for some time, we recognise that taking three years out for theological study may be more difficult. To bridge the gap, and to remove barriers to theological study, we have created some new pathways, combined with a pastoral leadership cohort experience (facilitated by The Center for Church Leadership). These pathways offer flexibility and special entry into theological study.
Experienced Pastoral Leaders without a degree, or with a non-theology degree
If you are an experienced pastoral leader, who does not currently have an academic qualification, or if you have a degree in another discipline, the pathway begins with the Graduate Certificate in Theology (Pastoral Leadership).
The Graduate Certificate in Theology (Pastoral Leadership), consists of four courses (that can be taken full or part time, in person or online) and a cohort experience that combines an immersive retreat, online gatherings, personalised coaching and engagement with guest practitioners to support deep theological reflection and practical ministry development.
