We are grieving the tragic passing of Fa’anānā Efeso Collins, MP, and our hearts go out to his wife Fia, his mother, his daughters and wider family.

Efeso served as a member of Laidlaw’s National Governing Council from 2017 to 2022. Just last week, we gathered to watch his maiden speech in Parliament.

We will miss his smile, his deep heart for others, and his wise insights. We will miss him as a Pacific leader, as a Rangatira in our nation, and for his Christlikeness. 

He was a blessing to our College community, a servant to many communities, and such a good man.

Echoing the closing of his maiden speech in Parliament, “Go now in peace, our friend Efeso, to love and serve the Lord.”
