Studying Theology at Laidlaw can take many shapes, from Diploma level, to a Bachelors degree, or Postgraduate Study and Research.

Rev. Dr Myk Habets
Senior Lecturer (Theology)
Myk is Senior Lecturer in Theology at Laidlaw College and has Senior Researcher status with AUT and ACT. He is also a Baptist pastor. Myk lectures in Systematic Theology and Ethics and has lectured at a number of universities and colleges in New Zealand and abroad. Read more about Myk Habets here.

Dr Gregory J. Liston
Senior Lecturer (Theology)
Greg is a Senior Lecturer in Theology, and is the lead academic for the undergraduate programs within the School of Theology. He teaches primarily in systematic theology, with a particular focus on ecclesiology and gospel witness in contemporary culture. Read more about Gregory Liston here.

Dr Ryan Lang
Professional Teaching Fellow - School of Theology
Ryan Lang teaches in theology at Laidlaw College and is based at our campuses in Auckland. He was born in Pakistan, where his parents served as relief workers, and he grew up between there and Aotearoa. Read more about Ryan Lang here.

Dr Samuel Carpenter
Research and Professional Teaching Fellow
Sam teaches into Laidlaw’s Church History courses with a specialist focus on New Zealand religious and political history. He leads Te Rongopai ki Aotearoa Project at Laidlaw that is exploring the multidimensional relationships of Christianity and Māori society. Read more about Dr Samuel Carpenter here.

Rev. Dr Maja Whitaker
Academic Dean | Lecturer (Theology)
Maja is the Academic Dean at Laidlaw College; she oversees all programme development and delivery and contributes to the development and outworking of College strategy. She is also a lecturer in the School of Theology, and has served as Practical Theology Lead and with the School of Theology Leadership team. Read more about Maja Whitaker here.

Dr Roshan Allpress
National Principal | CEO
Roshan commenced as National Principal/Chief Executive of Laidlaw College in 2017. He holds degrees in History from Canterbury and Oxford, with research interests in the history of social and cultural reform, evangelicalism and religious reform, the origins of philanthropy and humanitarianism, and intersections of theology and political economic thought. Rev. Dr Stuart Lange
Senior Research Fellow - School of Theology
Stuart completed his PhD from the University of Otago, through a study on the history of twentieth-century evangelical Christianity in New Zealand. He also holds an MA with first class honours in History from Auckland University and a BD from the Melbourne College of Divinity. Read more about Stuart Lange here.

Rebecca de Jong
Theology Lecturer
Rebecca de Jong is passionate about all things mission. Rebecca completed a BTh through Laidlaw College and a MA in Missiology through All Nations Christian College (UK). Rebecca has been a missionary in Myanmar for twelve years with her husband, John, and four children. Read more about Rebecca de Jong here.

Bradford Haami
Pou Amorangi/Māori Director
Bradford Haami (Ngati Awa) is the current chair of Te Rūnanga o te Wānanga Amorangi - The Māori Council for Laidlaw College - and sits on the governing board of the college. He is a lecturer in biculturalism at Laidlaw College and holds a Graduate Diploma in Indigenous Theology. Read more about Bradford Haami here.
