Laidlaw Auckland at Level 3

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV)

While a move to level 3 brings a glimmer of hope, we are still living and working in less-than-ideal circumstances, and many are weary. Jesus’ invitation in this passage might be welcome for some and feel out of reach for others. And yet, an invitation from the Creator of the cosmos – the call to ‘come and be with me’ might be the daily bread, hourly sustenance we need. As daily realities change marginally or exponentially we will continue to pray for strength, sustenance, and rest for your souls as you continue on this learning journey.

Campus Access

Our Manukau and Henderson campuses remain closed under Level 3, and learning continues online. As we have experienced previously, we will not be able to gather again on campus until Level 2, and then with some restrictions. We will keep you updated as the situation unfolds.

Learning Online

Teaching and Learning remains online. This is based on the requirements of the Ministry of Education and the best health advice we have from other government agencies, and ensures that we continue to protect the most vulnerable in our community and guarantee continuity for all our students. This may not be easy for many, but we are working hard to ensure that everyone is supported to complete their courses well.

Keep up to date with Study at Home resources on Moodle.

Library Access

Under Level 3, you will now be able to access our Click and Collect service. See here for our full list of services.

Student Support

We are dedicated to helping you succeed in your study so please reach out if you are struggling or need support in any way.

If you have any questions about your study or lectures please contact your school administrator.

You can also book a time to chat with your Student Support Advisor. Student Support will continue to be available to students throughout the campus closures, and you will be able to access academic and pastoral support.

Stay Connected

We have regular opportunities to connect online. Please check the latest Tūhono newsletter for these, or join our Laidlaw College Community Facebook Group.

Senior Lecturer, Richard Neville, has shared a short reflection on God’s promise to be with us:https://www.laidlaw.ac.nz/news/2021/i-am-with-you/

Join us on Thursdays for TOGETHER/APART – our online community gathering. This week we will spend time “Together with Jesus” and will give voice to some of the pain and sadness in our community through lament. With your last lectures next week before mid-semester break, may God continue to renew your strength as we hope in Him.
