Laidlaw College is Aotearoa New Zealand’s largest interdenominational Christian higher education institute, committed to forming leaders who are deeply shaped by the Gospel, passionate about God’s mission, and equipped to serve in a variety of spheres of Church & Society. We’re looking for a strategic, creative leader to shape how we communicate that vision and tell the many stories of impact across our communities.

As our Communications and Marketing Lead, you will drive the strategy and storytelling that shapes how Laidlaw is seen and heard across the communities that we serve in Aotearoa and beyond. Your strategies and campaigns will reach prospective students interested in becoming teachers, counsellors, pastors, and those interested in growing in Christian leadership and applying theology and the Bible to all of life. You will be someone who is motivated to recruit students, grow our programmes, and to help us expand our audiences.

This role leads the Communications and Marketing Team and works closely with College Leadership and key staff across the organisation, ensuring our voice resonates across a diverse landscape of prospective students, alumni, donors, church networks, and external partners.

You will be key in the planning and implementation of a new website, and managing and outworking marketing campaigns for our next intake.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement an integrated communications and marketing strategy aligned with Laidlaw’s mission and vision.
  • Manage creative direction across campaigns and ensure consistency of voice and brand across all platforms.
  • Actively drive student recruitment and programme growth, meeting key KPIs.
  • Grow engagement with Laidlaw’s key stakeholders, including the wider Church, and Christian networks.
  • Support internal communications and champion the telling of Laidlaw’s story

Who We’re Looking For

  • Creative Oversight: A flair for visual storytelling and brand guardianship, with an eye for detail and a love for design.
  • Discernment and Analysis: The ability to challenge assumptions, uphold our ethos, evaluate impact, and respond wisely.
  • Integrity: A trustworthy, authentic leader who fosters a culture of openness, excellence, and accountability.
