Alert level update - coming back on campus

Kia ora koutou,

Now that we will be moving back down to Alert Level 2 in Auckland and Alert Level 1 across the rest of the country on Sunday morning, we are looking forward to welcoming our Auckland students back to campus on Monday.

Everyone’s wellbeing remains a high priority, so there are a few things to note for next week and going forward:

Health on campus

If you are unwell with any of the symptoms of COVID-19, please stay off campus until you have returned a negative test, and liaise with your lecturer about staying up with classwork.

Sign-in and distancing are requirements at Level 2 on our Auckland campuses. Please ensure you sign in with the app and also fill out the log, stay distanced, and maintain hygeine.

Fuller guidelines for health during COVID on Laidlaw campuses can be found at: https://www.laidlaw.ac.nz/blog/2021/general-covid-19-health-guidelines-at-laidlaw/

Classroom changes

Henderson

Some classes in Henderson will be moved to larger lecture rooms, or split into overflow rooms, to ensure that distancing requirements are kept. Please check the screens at the entrance to campus to make sure you get to the right room (or ask for help).

Manukau & Christchurch

Manukau and Christchurch room allocations are unchanged from what is in the timetable.

Community and worship

Because community gatherings can get too large or too close, much of our wider life together will continue online at L2. Keep an eye out for Zoom links or Facebook live on our community page. You are welcome to join in individually, or to gather on one Zoom link with classmates on campus.

Getting support

This has been a disrupted start to term, so if you’re struggling or unclear in any way, reach out for help early to one of our Student Support team.

As we have looked after each others’ wellbeing by staying apart, now let’s continue to care for the vulnerable among us by how we come back together as a community. So that, in the words of Paul to the Ephesians (4:15-16):

...we grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by every ligament with which it is equipped, as each part is working properly, promotes the body’s growth in building itself up in love.
