Redeeming the Screen: Food, Film and Facilitated discussion
Auckland

Be a learner as we live alongside others in our multi-religious Aotearoa New Zealand!

You’re invited to a Film Festivalette hosted by Laidlaw College over the evenings of Friday 26 and Saturday 27 August. At each evening a film will be shown with a story exploring themes of contact, comfort and conflict, followed by facilitated discussion. A meal will be provided beforehand.

Films showing:

Friday 26 August: “The Imam and the Pastor”  A documentary telling the story of an imam and a pastor who, through their friendship, grew peace in their communities.

Saturday 27 August: “Where do we go now?” A group of Lebanese women try to ease religious tensions between Christians and Muslims in their village. The village is ringed with land mines, and its cemetery is filled with the bodies of young men who have died in sectarian warfare.

These Film Festivalettes are being facilitated by OMF, SIM and NZCMS mission agencies.

Registrations close Thursday 25 August at midday.
