History

From childhood to old age, we delight in sharing and hearing the stories of those who have gone before us. As we learn more about these people and their journeys - we discover more about the world, who we are and what we are called to do.

At Laidlaw, history is about engaging with the vibrant story of God's people throughout the last 2000 years. Through the church's shining moments, to the periods of shame and sin, we seek to interact with this story to learn more about what it means to live faithfully in today’s changing world.

Our history of Christianity is full of inspirational stories - men and women who have stood strong under intense persecution and moves to weaken the Gospel; people who have dedicated their lives to share the Good News; people used by God despite their human frailties.

The study of our history brings understanding of how and why our church doctrines and traditions have evolved, teaches us of the pitfalls to be avoided, and gives us lessons to build on as we forge into the future.

Never dry and dusty - always full of twists, turns and intrigue - join our expert faculty in exploring our story, to guide our next steps.
