Sustain - Women in Leadership Event

Dr Maja Whitaker was the guest speaker at a Sustain: Women in Leadership gathering at the Henderson campus on 24 June. Speaking out of her own experience as a pastor, doctoral student, and mother of four, Maja shared her thoughts on “moving to a healthy model of ministry”. Putting “moving to” in the title was deliberate – Maja acknowledging that this is very much a journey.

There were plenty of nods and smiles, as many of her struggles and experiences resonated with those present! Understanding our personality types, and finding a good friend who can ask the hard questions were a few of the tips Maja gave as we seek to be sustainable in our ministry.

It was a thought-provoking and helpful presentation – the kind of evening many of us wished we’d invited more friends to come and hear!
