Roshan Allpress on Sabbatical Leave

National Principal, Dr Roshan Allpress will be on sabbatical from mid October 2021 until June 2022. Roshan has led Laidlaw since the start of 2017, and the focus of his leave will be primarily completing a book project on Evangelical philanthropy and social reform, and pursuing new research projects, as well as a period of refreshing and sowing for the next season.

National Governing Council Chair, Professor Jessica Palmer writes, “Roshan puts in enormous energy and effort to his role as Principal and he is a huge blessing to Laidlaw. This sabbatical will provide Roshan with some much-needed time and opportunity to reflect on, and continue to build his skills in, the areas in which God has called him to serve ... I am grateful that we have in place a strong team of people who will take great care of the College in Roshan’s absence.”

Phil Newman (COO) will take over as Acting CEO during Roshan’s absence, supported by the wider Senior Leadership Team. If you have any questions during this period, please contact Esther Sila’ila’i (Principal’s PA) on [email protected]
