THE STURT LECTURES Laidlaw's School of Counselling (SoC) invite you to attend this exciting event. The Sturt Lectures are a conference series inspired by John and Agnes Sturt, who were influential in the early development of holistic counselling in Aotearoa New Zealand. The aim of this conference is to develop a robust dialogue between counselling and trinitarian theology. |

ANZATS 2013 The Annual Conference of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Theological Schools (ANZATS) will be held at Laidlaw College in Auckland, New Zealand. Proposals for papers in all fields of theological study are invited. Titles and Abstracts may be sent to: msutherland/laidlaw.ac.nz no later than 31 March 2013. Proposals will be accepted progressively.

THEOLOGY, DISABILITY, AND THE PEOPLE OF GOD CONFERENCE Laidlaw College, in partnership with Carey Baptist College, is co-hosting the ‘Theology, Disability, and the People of God’ Conference. This conference draws together both local and international voices with academic, professional, and/or lived experience, each offering biblical, theological, ethical, and church perspectives on the theme ‘Theology, Disability, and the People of God, featuring keynote speakers Professor Amos Yong (J. Rodman WIlliams Professor of Theology, Regent University) and Professor John Swinton (Chair in Divinity and Religious Studies, University of Aberdeen). |

UNDERSTANDING GENESIS 1-3 Laidlaw College is hosting a debate between biblical scholar Dr John Walton (Wheaton College) and Associate Pastor Joe Fleener (Howick Baptist Church) on how to understand Genesis 1-3. Both speakers will have 30 minutes to present a biblical interpretation of the creation stories contained within Genesis 1-3. Following a short break, each speaker will have seven minutes to respond to the other’s presentation before taking questions from the audience. |
